Editorial Policy
To USA is an independent author-led project. Its purpose is to preserve human stories, explain complex processes in plain language, and portray life in the United States without idealization or sensationalism.
Independence
Editorial conclusions are determined by the author and are not controlled by advertisers, partners, or affiliated projects. Commercial cooperation does not provide a right to approve editorial findings.
Sources and accuracy
Factual claims are supported whenever possible by primary sources, including official documents, statutes, court records, government databases, direct interviews, and FOIA responses. Secondary sources are evaluated for origin, date, and reliability.
Personal experience and opinion
Personal experience is identified as such and is not presented as a universal rule. News, analysis, and opinion should be distinguishable through context and presentation.
Use of AI
AI may assist with outlining, language editing, transcription, draft translation, and illustration. A human reviews factual conclusions. AI-generated images are labeled when their realistic appearance could cause readers to mistake them for documentary photographs.
Conflicts of interest
The relationship between To USA, DukeDocument, and World Door Studios is disclosed whenever it is material to the reader. Advertising and partner content are labeled separately.
