Kevin Duke
I am the author of To USA, a translator, and the founder of DukeDocument and World Door Studios.
I was born in Yakutsk, later lived in Saint Petersburg, and left Russia in 2022. In January 2023, I arrived in the United States with almost no money and no clear idea of what would happen next. America has since become my home.
After moving, I had to rebuild almost every part of my life: navigate immigration procedures, adapt, learn English, establish my own business, and develop a personal and professional life in a new country. That experience became the foundation of To USA and my future book, “Stories of My Immigration to the United States.”
My work
I run DukeDocument, a professional translation and document-preparation service, and World Door Studios, a creative studio developing video, original formats, and independent media projects.
Why To USA exists
I want to do more than preserve my own story. I want to present immigration as a lived human experience. To USA combines personal narrative, interviews, documentary materials, analysis, and open-source research. Documents and statistics appear alongside human voices, and everyday life is treated as an essential part of the larger story.
